Since discovering her love for coaching, Jessica is grateful for the chance to help other women change their lives through fitness, just as she did a decade ago. She says, “At almost 40, I want women to know they can make a change in their lives and feel good in the skin they are in, no matter their age. Fitness is not just about the outward appearance, but the mind, body, and soul. Fitness changed my life and I am grateful I can do my part and help others in the same way.” Fitness helped Jessica out of a depression during a low point in her life. She made the decision to compete in her first Bikini competition to keep herself focused and, as she puts it, “out of trouble.” Says Jessica, “I hired my first coach in 2011, trained for six months, and competed in my first ever competition. I never looked back and never stopped.”

Jessica’s gratitude for finding fitness is evident, as everything she does in fitness she does with passion. On her current lifestyle, Jessica says it depends what’s going on based on if she’s in competition prep mode or “lifestyle” season: “If I am in contest prep it can be very extreme. Lower calories, intense training and high cardio. My typical day to day outside of that is usually training five times a week with two rest days. Maybe a three day on split. I don’t put too much pressure on myself with it. I have days where I lift for strength and days when it is just therapy for me. Nutrition wise, I try to eat relatively healthy 90 percent of the time. I do believe in balance and being able to enjoy and splurge from time to time.” Up next for Jessica is more coaching online and training for a few IFBB competitions this year—which we know she’ll continue to do with passion.
